Postdoctoral Research Associate - Arts & Sciences
Job Description
Position Summary
A postdoctoral position is available to investigate mammalian centrosomes and cilia in the lab of Dr. Jennifer Wang in the Department of Biology at Washington University in St. Louis.
Research in the Wang lab focuses on the mechanisms by which centrosomes are formed and function, with special emphasis on 1) the unique triplet microtubule arrangement of centrioles, and 2) centrosomes in olfactory sensory neurons. We use a variety of techniques, including CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, high-resolution microscopy, and biochemical techniques including proteomics and protein expression/purification. For more information, see sites.wustl.edu/centrosome/.
Dr. Wang is committed to mentoring and to creating a respectful, intellectually stimulating, collaborative lab culture. The lab has access to excellent facilities on the main campus and at the Washington University School of Medicine, and the postdoctoral researcher will also benefit from being a part of Washington University’s collaborative community of cilia and centrosome researchers. Postdocs are supported by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (postdoc.wustl.edu/) and Postdoc Society (sites.wustl.edu/wupostdocsociety/).
Information on being a postdoc at Washington University in St. Louis can be found at postdoc.wustl.edu/prospective-postdocs-2/.
