      9-month Tenure Track Faculty - Engineering Technology
    

Job Purpose:&nbsp; A full-time faculty is responsible for delivering instruction in various formats (on-line, in person, video-conferencing, or any combination of methods) in the discipline(s) for which she/he has been employed. Instruction may take place at any of the college’s campuses, at a clinical partner facility, or at a designated temporary location. Faculty also provide academic advising and facilitate student success. Technology tools are routinely used to communicate with and support students.&nbsp; Faculty participate in divisional and institutional activities related to the college’s mission, engage with communities of interest, and promote college programs.
Faculty accepting the appointment of program directors have certain administrative responsibilities in addition to their faculty responsibilities. 
Program Director Job Purpose:&nbsp; The program director provides leadership for a specific program, ensures that the program operates smoothly, develops and implements student recruitment plans and activities, maintains any applicable accreditations, and assists the division dean with the supervision and evaluation of faculty and staff in the program.
Program Directors typically receive one three-hour course re-assignment to attend the administrative duties and to collaborate with practitioners and employers in their program field.
This is a 9-month position located on the Columbia, TN Campus.

Faculty Essential Functions:

Job Specifications

Education, Training and Experience Required:

Job Summary
Part time faculty are hired as needed on a semester-to-semester basis and typically teach up to nine credit hours during the semester. Columbia State offers classes at five campuses: Columbia Campus, Williamson Campus, Lawrenceburg Campus, Lewisburg Campus, and Clifton Campus. Columbia State also offers classes at several off-campus locations and clinical sites.
Minimum Qualifications
Instructor Assistant – Currently licensed as a Tennessee EMT – Basic (or higher) without history of revocation, suspension, or denial of licensure. Minimum one-year pre-hospital experience. Minimum 75 hours EMS related teaching experience acceptable to the TN EMS Board and current BLS Instructor Certification.
Instructor Coordinator – Associate degree. Current TN EMT-Paramedic license without history of revocation, suspension, or denial of licensure. Two years’ experience practicing advanced life support in the pre-hospital environment; minimum 300 hours EMS related teaching experience (or two years EMS education administration). POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Department Head and/or Lead Faculty, Adjunct Faculty have as their chief duty the instruction of assigned college-level and/or learning support classes. Adjunct faculty teach classes that are scheduled during the day or evening, taught in a variety of formats, and at several different locations, including off-campus sites and local high schools. Responsibilities include: conducting classes using appropriate instructional practices, maintaining records of attendance, evaluating student performance on assignments, monitoring and communicating progress to students and the appropriate college employees, assigning midterm grades and final grades, completing mandatory training as needed, and performing other duties as assigned. This is a full-time academic-year (9-month) term appointment faculty position reporting to the Department Chair of Technologies. The faculty member will also play a key role in shaping the AI curriculum and integrating hands-on learning experiences into the program. Job Duties

<li>Prepares and delivers lectures to students on topics such as technical mathematics and courses within the Artificial Intelligence Technology AAS program.</li>
<li>Teaches departmental courses during the day (typically four or five days per week), in the evening (usually two nights per week), and occasionally on Saturdays.</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' coursework, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom (tutoring), assists in the planning and implementation of the CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) plan at the department and program levels.</li>

Job Duties:
Strategize with the senior leadership team to guide and support implementation of the SEM Plan, Achieving the Dream, the 1-, 3-, and 5-year strategic plans, and other college-wide projects.
