Duties and Responsibilities:

Roane State Community College is inviting applications for qualified candidates for a Program Director and Assistant Professor position in our Mechatronics Program. The successful candidate will assist with the improvement of the 2-year Mechatronics program that is aligned with the industry needs. The Program Director’s duties will include recruiting of students into the program and teach a selection of classes. The program is designed to be both day and an evening/ weekend program. Appointment to this position may require some weekend or evening commitments. The Program Director will represent the program to internal and external constituencies and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the program. Job Duties

This position will teach adult and high school students in the IEM program in conjunction with the current IEM instructor to prepare them for employment in the field. Areas of instruction include, but are not limited to: manufacturing processes, industrial safety, blueprint reading, technical math, process automation, quality inspection, CAD/CAM, electronics, mechanical maintenance, electrical motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLC), instrumentation, computer software and computer hardware skills, AC/DC electrical, machine tool, and preventive maintenance. The Associate Instructor must monitor, grade and evaluate individual student progress; maintain student records in the college’s student records management software; maintain appropriate documentation; submit timely reports, and assist in recruiting new students and placement of graduates. This position must also maintain good public relations with business and industry; maintain an active advisory committee; cooperate with outside agencies; and supervise and follow-up on students participating in cooperative education. This position is full-time and reports to the Clarksville Campus Director. The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Associate Instructor in the Welding Technology program at the Turney Center Industrial Complex, a correctional facility, in Only, TN.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
<ul>
<li>Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training with credentials in related field. Associate Degree preferred. A comparable combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.</li>
<li>Minimum three (3) years of full-time experience in the welding field within the last five (5) years.</li>
<li>Experience working in a correctional facility highly preferred.</li>
<li>Must possess all required certifications for the field or the ability to become certified within three (3) calendar months. CWE and CWI certifications a plus.</li>

GENERAL DUTIES:&nbsp; The Welding Technology Associate Instructor is responsible for instructing incarcerated individuals inside a correctional facility in order to prepare them to re-enter the job market in the welding field. The Associate Instructor must monitor, grade and evaluate individual students’ progress; maintain appropriate documentation of student progress; submit timely reports; and maintain close communication with correctional personnel and TCAT Dickson administration. &nbsp;This position provides theory and hands-on skills instruction. Areas of instruction include shielded metal arc (STICK), gas metal arc (MIG), tungsten inert gas (TIG) and flux cored arc welding; symbols and blueprint reading; cutting techniques; grinding; metal preparation; metallurgy; layout; fabrication; power tools; and measurement techniques. This position is full-time and reports to the Turney Center Program Coordinator. Applicants selected for an interview will be required to tour the Turney Center facility. Scheduled work hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
SALARY:&nbsp; $51,646-$61,976 per year ($26.49-$31.83 per hour). Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines and related experience.
