The successful candidate will support a new NSF-EPSCoR Track 1 award focused on the vulnerability of Kentucky’s waterways to climate changes. Additionally, the faculty scholar is expected to develop an internationally recognized externally funded research program, and engage in interdisciplinary collaborations with academic, industry, and government partners. Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Provide leadership and supervision to the athletic training staff, ensuring consistent delivery of care during practices, games, and other athletic events.</li><li>Evaluate and manage athletic injuries, including acute and chronic conditions, and develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.</li><li>Oversee the implementation of injury prevention programs and ensure that athletes are educated on proper techniques to minimize injury risk.</li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for athletic training services, coordinating with team physicians, coaches, athletic directors, and other healthcare providers for comprehensive athlete care.</li><li>Assist with the recruitment, training, and evaluation of athletic training staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and university policies.</li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation activities.</li><li>Develop, implement, and monitor emergency action plans for athletic venues, ensuring staff preparedness.</li></ul> Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Excel, organized and effective communication. · Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. · Ability to work independently, make decisions, and manage multiple priorities effectively. · Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and travel for athletic events.
